Nashville Seasonal Beers

  Special & Seasonal Beer List
*Boscos "BBR"
As part of our annual celebration of American Beer Month
(July is American Beer Month), we brew Boscos versions of
several classic American beers. Boscos BBR is a standard
American style beer, brewed with lots of cheap corn. Crisp and
refreshing, it is sure to remind you of your first beer that
you stole out of your Father’s refrigerator.

*Phil’s Original Witbier
Wit, or white, bier is a Belgian style unfiltered wheat beer.
(The style is called “white” because of the whitish color the yeast
gives the beer.) “Phil’s” is brewed with both malted and
un-malted wheat and flavored with coriander and bitter orange peel.
The resulting beer is refreshing and flavorful.
And by the way, it’s not named after that Phil.

*BBXXXPA

“BBXXXPA” has also been brewed as part of Boscos American Beer Month
festivities. Based on the old Ballentine’s XXX Pale Ale formula,
this beer represents a style of pale ale brewed in America before the
dominance of factory produced pilsners. Ballentine was one of the
last regional breweries in the Northeast U.S. to go out of business.
The label was sold, in succession, to several other large breweries
but the beer produced under the original label was only a shadow
of the original ale. As an interesting aside, the original ale yeast strain
at Ballantine was supposedly preserved by an1980’s California craft brewery.
This strain then became one of the most common yeast strains in use by
craft breweries across the U.S. Boscos yeast traces it lineage back to the
original Ballantine strain.
